i know an elder who once opened a prayer like this:.
"jehovah!
this is xx-congregation speaking..." .
I remember one concluding prayer on a Thursday night. The circuit overseer was to visit the following week. The prayer went something like this. "Jehovah, we pray for your blessing for the following week of activities and our cirucuit overseer's visit. Lord help us to endure. . . " Ha ha. I had a hard time preventing my urge to laugh.
at some convention sites, there will be protests by apostates.
at other conventions, apostates will covertly slip in and leave messages on cars.
however, not everyone has the fortitude to protest nor the time.
I don't mean to be the devil's advocate here, but I think it is perhaps a bit naive to beleive that a few slips of paper will scare any of the higher ups. Does a Witness track slipped on your front door scare any of you? Childish is a word that comes to mind. In fact, such efforts, in my opinion, will only enforce the Witnesses view that Satan is out to get them.
Odrade, haven't you heard? There are no adverbs in the South. lol
i hate to say this, as there may be some here that fit this description, but people deep into jesus with all that saved talk and accepting jesus talk, look the same as the person trying to get me to take a hit on the bong.
these people seem stoned hard core and in la-la land of some fantasy and wonder why others don't want to ride the crazy train with them.
personally, i find these people to be almost alien to me, in that they seem so into their religion of "save" and "accept" this, that there is no reasoning or even discussing a different subject with them.
I saw a billboard advertising that pretty much sums it up. In huge bold letters were the only words on the sign, "Got Jesus?" Tards!
for anal expulsion sakes people ,it's friday and you are all so boring so who wants to strip first for our amusement
You have to be wearing clothes before you can strip--er, just an observation. :-)
this has probably been done before, but has anyone had any scary or funny things happen to them during field service?
i used to go door-to-door with the most obnoxious elder in the world.
if we approached a house, saw signs of life, but they didn't answer the door, he'd actually go around and knock on their windows!
<quote>I used to go door-to-door with the most obnoxious elder in the world. If we approached a house, saw signs of life, but they didn't answer the door, he'd actually go around and knock on their windows! We once came upon a house with the kitchen lights on. When we knocked on the door, the light went out and all was quiet. This kook went around to their living room window and cupped his hands around the glass so he could see inside. He then hollered, "I see you in there. Would you like to talk to us?" I nearly said, "Holy sh*t" out loud.
A rather robust man then flew from the front door with a baseball bat and literally chased us from the yard! The stubborn elder had the nerve to drop his Watchtower in the front yard before getting in the car and said, "You may want to take a look at that. It has an article on anger management." I thought the dude was going to bash in our windows after that remark, but the wheel man was ready. We managed to escape and seek out our next victim.</quote>
That's hilarious--I laughed out loud. I can see it being made into a Tom and Jerry or Rin and Stimpy cartoon. :-)
a lot of people here have posted their photo's, but i think the majority haven't... i sometimes wonder when reading posts on here, what person making those posts must look like, not that i want to see their photo, i just find it interesting... i recently got to see a photo of someone i have talked to on here since i first joined, and i had to say the person looked an awful lot like i had imagined, so i wondered if anyone else wonders about things like this?
is there a particular poster you have a mental image of?
care to share it and see if the person really looks like what you think they look like?

There, I changed my avatar. Not like you can see me in that picture though. :-)
just wondering, do you know of any?
?.
I never personally witnessed it, but I they used to tell us about disaster reliefs that witnesses were involved in, such as hurricanes in the gulf states. As far as I know, they don't formally support any charities.
i think from time to time we have posters here that may be assigned by the gb to speak xjw speak and try to discourage posters from attacking the organization, or to just give up our internet fight to expose them, to just give up our efforts and forget about the wt.
if they did this they would have to keep close tabs on whoever they assign because they know that there is a great possiblity they may turn on them.
or perhaps they would trust no one except themselves and so you might even have a member of the gb actually posting in disguise.
Who cares? The level of paranoia here seems to be abnormally high.
